Possible route for next segment of container journey
There is a lot I don’t know about shipping channels and I’m not sure about the BBC News “The Box” container’s destination in the United States, but my hunch is the route is something like the map reproduced here. Depending, of course, upon the vessel’s speed and ports along the way, the journey may take as long as 20 days.
Assuming this approximate route, the vessel may be within sight of Russian volcanos and other incredible scenery. The pictures below are during what I expect is the peak of the warm season as other pictures I’ve seen have everything covered in snow. It’s a harsh, but surreally beautiful country.
